It does feel a little sudden, given some of her interactions with Ryuuji just last volume, but I think it’s great that she’s able to be more comfortable with herself around her classmates. Still, the climax of this volume is really good and exciting and makes the volume well worth the read, and I really enjoy seeing this exploration of what makes Taiga so distrustful and aggressive towards others.Īmi shows a lot of character development in this volume as well in that she’s more willing to be more openly hostile towards Taiga around other people, and she’s willing to come off as silly in public. It’s understandable that he would act the way he does, but that doesn’t make it much less frustrating. His actions are understandable, but I spent most of the volume just wanting him to have a conversation with Taiga or Minori about how Taiga’s dad has acted in the past. As a result, Ryuuji insistence that it’s good thing for Taiga to reunite with her dad does end up being a bit frustrating in this volume, especially if you already know how things are going to turn out.
Taiga’s dad tries to come back into her life, and this is the volume where you start to really understand why Taiga is the way she is. This is the School Festival volume, and after some fighting, the class decides to put on a pro-wrestling show. Please check it out if you are interested in the series.
